Study/Concentration Roller Blend

Happy Oily Thursday Y’all!

Since I got diagnosed with a ‘learning disability;’ I started taking Concerta to help me concentrate better when it came to studying and test taking. I would have never gotten to where I am now, without it. In 2006, my mom and I visited a certified aromatherapist with the main reason being to get something to help the tremor in my mom’s arm due to her stroke in 2004. While there, I also left with a blend to use instead of taking my prescription. Unfortunately, I ran out of the blend and the aromatherapist moved.

When I became a Young Living Consultant in 2014, I decided to make my own blend to use instead of my prescription even though I’m not in school anymore, the blend helps with concentration, staying awake while trying to work on various things. I also use it sometimes for staying alert and awake while driving long distances. So, to continue once again on our school theme, I am going to share my study/concentration roller blend.

Study/Concentration Roller Blend

Young Living Essential Oils You’ll Need:

  • Bergamot
  • Wintergreen
  • Orange
  • Valor
  • Citronella
  • Thieves
  • Empty Roller
  • Carrier Oil

Below I will give the ‘uses’ and ‘fragrant influence’ for each essential oil based on the book “Essential Oils Pocket Reference – Sixth Edition” published May 2014.

Bergamot:

Wintergreen:

Study/Concentration Roller Blend -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoUsed for “Arthritis/rheumatism, muscle/nerve pain, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, hepatitis/fatty liver.” “Fragrant Influence(s)” include stimulating and increasing “awareness in all levels of the sensory system.”

Orange:

Study/Concentration Roller Blend -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoUsed for “Arteriosclerosis, hypertension, cancer, insomnia, […] complexion (dull and oily), fluid retention, [and] wrinkles.” “Fragrant Influence(s)” include “uplifting and antidepressant.” According to a study at Mie University, “citrus fragrances boosted immunity, induced relaxation, and reduced depression” (Komori, et al.,1995). Obviously, I added Orange Essential Oil for the uplifting benefits and I love the smell of oranges.

Valor:

Study/Concentration Roller Blend -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoI added Valor II because according to the reference book, it “was formulated to balance energies and instill courage, confidence, and self-esteem.” Last year due to shortage of I believe Blue Tansy Essential Oil, Young Living created a new blend for the same purpose to substitute the original Valor.

Studying for a Test? I love using The Princeton Review practice exams and courses. Make today’s blend get to studying!

So Valor II includes fractionated coconut oil, Ylang Ylang Essential Oil, Rosewood Essential Oil, Northern Lights Black Spruce Essential Oil, German Chamomile Essential Oil, Idaho Blue Spruce Essential Oil, Frankincense Essential Oil, Vetiver Essential Oil, Cistus Essential Oil, Bergamot Essential Oil, Cassia Essential Oil, and Davana Essential Oil.

Citronella:

Study/Concentration Roller Blend -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoUsed for “Respiratory infection, muscle/nerve pain, digestive/intestinal problem, anxiety, skin problems (acne, eczema, oily skin), [and] skin-penetration enhancer.” “Fragrant Inflence(s) include “refreshing and uplifting.” As everyone knows, citronella is great for repelling insects. I added this one to my blend mainly because, I love to be outside whether I’m studying or working on something else. Unfortunately, biting insects love me!

Thieves:

Study/Concentration Roller Blend -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoIf I had to guess, one of the most used essential oil from Young Living is Thieves. According to the book it’s a blend of “highly anti-viral, antiseptic, antibacterial, and anti-infectious essential oils.” Within the blend included Clove Essential Oil, Lemon Essential Oil, Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil, Eucalyptus Radiata Essential Oil, and Rosemary Essential Oil.

I added this to my blend for two reasons. Reason one, I figured with all the ‘antis’ I was less likely to catch something while being at school, work, or just Starbucks. I still use my Thieves Spray but if I’m using the blend I at least still have it just in case I’m out or forget my spray. Reason two is because in my original blend made by the aromatherapist, I remember it included Clove Essential Oil and Rosemary Essential Oil.

Making the Roller Blend:

Study/Concentration Roller Blend -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoTo make my Study/Concentration Blend add between 15 to 20 drops of each essential oil to your roller. Using the Carrier Oil of your choice once all the essential oils are added, fill to top the roller off until it is filled almost to the top so it doesn’t overflow when the roller is added.
