2018 New Years Goals

WOW! It’s already half way into the third week of the 2018 New Year! It’s crazy how time flies, right? I was going to post this last week but due to “Technical Difficulties” before heading to see my sister, I was unable to get it finished. Luckily our electricity didn’t go out yesterday/night due to the ‘Winter Wonderland” snow we had Monday night. It’s only once in a blue moon we get that much snow here in North Louisiana. Though our electricity stayed on, our pool pipes almost froze on us (EEEK!!). Anyways, as a ‘follow-up’ type post from last years “New Year Wishes,” today I thought I would share my “2018 New Years Goals” with the help of The Postman’s Knock by Lindsey Bugbee “Free Flourished Printable Goal Sheet.” So, let’s get started…

So, if you have been following me since last year you may remember my five “New Year Wishes.” For this 2018 New Year, I’m going to share goals showing off and using The Postman’s Knock by Lindsey Bugbee “Free Flourished Printable Goal Sheet.”  First, I’m going to do a quick recap of my 2017 “New Year Wishes.”

2017 New Year Wishes Recap:

Wish #1: Sadly I did not get to move back down to Gulfport Mississippi. Though the job I applied for was offered, they did not offer enough money. It was certainly my dream job more or less being able to teach others about dolphins and other fascinating marine animals, but for someone with two bachelors degrees, I’m worth more than $8.50/hr. On the happy side, I am working towards my first career choice in following my mom’s footsteps of becoming a teacher. As I always and will continue saying — “Everything Happens for a Reason!”

Wish #2: So, without saying what it was, my sister has come along ways and is well on her way to getting what she has always dreamed of having but was told would never happen. We are still waiting for parts but so far so good.

Wish #3: YAY for ME! I have continued to practice my calligraphy most days. Though I’m not sure some would agree, but I do believe I have gotten a lot better than when I started in February 2016. Considering I just jumped in without practicing those drills you see, I’ll take what I’ve got. (wait for it… Goals right ahead).

Wish #4: Nope! Creating my own practice sheets have not happened YET! Merry Christmas to me, my awesome, great sister gave me a year membership for Adobe Photoshop CC and Lightroom along with a super thick book to go with it. So, wait for it..2018 Goal? Continue reading…

Wish #5: Last but not least, I have been super excited I’ve been able to continue blogging. Though back in July I had to take a short break (okay really sort of long one); but nonetheless I’m still going. Click here for my About Me Part 2 on why I had to take my break.

2018 New Years Goals:

So, first, as I mentioned above, I’m using The Postman’s Knock by Lindsey Bugbee “Free Flourished Printable Goal Sheet” to share my goals. Second, I’m super excited to show off one of my Christmas gifts and use it for the first time out of so many more to come.

To create my “Free Flourished Printable Goal Sheet” version of The Postman’s Knock by Lindsey Bugbee, I used my new Cricut BrightPad I received for Christmas. In order to keep the printed copy in place, I simply used some tape. Instead of using a dip pen, I used my Tombow Fudenosuke Soft Tip. Though I still love how my version came out, it’s certainly not as picture perfect as the original version.

Just like for the original version, I used tape to place a blank sheet of my Canson Marker Paper on top. The first thing I did here was go over the main part of the Goal Sheet.

Step #3:

Next, I placed another piece of my Canson Marker Paper to draw out the words and phrases. Since I kept with my own calligraphy style here, I had to put each step on separate pieces of paper so I could get everything to fit together. Here, I again used a new piece of Canson Marker Paper to draw out my “2018 New Years Goals.” Of course, some of these are out of my control, but one can always wish right! My first goal is going to be completed hopefully very very soon. For my second goal, I’m just waiting to get my class observations take care of and then I’ll be on my way. The third goal, completed as of now, though we shall see how many more ‘breaks’ I have to take. :/ And my fourth goal, though I was hoping to create my practice sheets last year (see Wish #4 explanation from above), I do believe this will happen (fingers crossed at least).
