Hello Scrap It Friday!!
We’ve made it to our 3-day weekend! I know a bunch of y’all will probably be heading to the beach/lake one last time for the summer. Me? I’m not quite sure what I will be doing, still deciding. So, I know it’s a little early, but today I decided I would share a double page I did when we were in Cozumel, Mexico for Thanksgiving a few years ago. So get ready for “A Mexico Thanksgiving!”
A Mexico Thanksgiving
Things Used:
- Green Cardstock
- Red Cardstock
- Yellow Cardstock
- Orange Cardstock
- Brown Cardstock
- Paisley Punch
- Jolee’s Boutique “Mexico” sticker pack
- Cricut Expression
- Cricut Mat
- Adhesive
- Paper Trimmer
All the cardstock I used for this double page is from Close To My Heart. Since it has been a few years since putting it together, I don’t remember the exact color names; just wanted to be sure I pointed it out. First thing I decided for this page is to do a ‘color blocking.’ I used my Yellow Cardstock as my background. Then I went from there to putting the pages together.
Left-Side Page:
On the left-side, I trimmed a piece off my Orange Cardstock to 4 by 12 and placed it towards the middle leaving a 2 inch space from the edge. Next, I trimmed my Green Cardstock to a 6 by 6 and placing it in the bottom right-hand corner. Since my background to begin with is the Yellow, the top right-hand corner was made when the Orange and Green Cardstock was placed. For the title, I used my Cricut Expression cutting the letters out for “Thanksgiving” in a 2.5 font size. I cut the “A” out in a 3.5 font size. With the “A” at an angle in place, and “Thanksgiving” in place on its ‘side,’ I placed Jolee’s “Mexico” sticker basically in the middle of the two. I also placed the “Mexican Hat” on the ‘A’ at an angle to add a little more. Finally, I used my paisley punch using my Orange Cardstock and backing with my Red Cardstock.
Right-Side Page:
On the right-side, I trimmed my Green, Orange, and Brown Cardstocks to 6 by 6 each leaving the Yellow background showing 6 by 6 in the bottom right-hand corner. Since my picture I wanted to use in the Orange block was a tad too small for me, I backed it with my Red Cardstock giving it a little more depth. Finally for this side, I used my paisley punch again punching out 3 browns, 2 reds, 2 oranges, and 1 yellow putting them together to look like a turkey.
There you go! An easy, colorful, Thanksgiving page ready to go whether you have pictures already to be used or for pictures you will soon to take.
Have any questions about the double page? Please feel free to comment below and I’ll respond back as soon as possible! Thanks for visiting! Hope to see you again!
