Happy Scrap It Friday!
Once again it’s “Scrap It Friday!!” I love butterflies in case y’all didn’t know; almost as much as I love dolphins. Today I am sharing a double page I did using my own paper but with layouts inspired by the people behind Mosaic Moments. Let’s get started with “Butterfly Love…”
Things Used:
- Mosaic Moments Grid Paper
- Grid Paper Planner
- Pattern paper
- Solid paper
- Mosaic Moments Die cuts
- Cuttlebug
- Tombow Adhesive
Cutting Out the Pieces:
I am finally using the die cuts my mom ordered off the Mosaic Moments website several months ago. Funny thing is, she hasn’t even gotten around to use them yet.
Step #1:
The first thing I had to do was cut the die cuts pieces apart. Since they come in various sets, they are also attached to each other where they have to be cut apart.
Step #2:
Next, I cut all my pieces out using our Cuttlebug machine. The Cuttlebug is just basically a die cut machine but it also does embossing. Though I’ve never used it for embossing and yesterday was actually the first time I’ve use the machine since we got it at the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington, TX about 5-6 years ago.
When using the die cuts make sure the flat side is facing up. Also, if you are cutting in the same color different sizes, there’s a chance the die cuts will all fit like it did when I cut the green pieces out. To cut the pieces out I used the Cuttlebug’s three pieces, ‘A’ where I put the paper directly on it; ‘B’ on top of the paper and die cut; and ‘C’ to fill the extra space since the paper I used was fairly thin.
Step #3:
Finally, after all my pieces were cut out, I went to work and started putting my double page layout together.
Putting the Double Page Layout Together:
Step #1:
As usual, I placed the smallest pieces on first, so I added my butterfly pattern paper. I purchased this paper from Hobby Lobby for about $0.59.
Step #2:
Next, I added the green pieces to each side of the layout. The green cardstock here I had in my stash of scrapbook things.
Step #3:
Finally, I added my pink pieces to both sides of my layout. I purchased the pink paper from Hobby Lobby too for about $0.49.
