We’ve made it to Oily Thursday!
So, for this “Oily Thursday,” I decided I would give a Cabbage Soup Update and tell you which supplements I used also take. These supplements I take on a daily basis despite being on this cabbage soup diet or not. New to this site? Click here to visit my first post on the Cabbage Soup Diet. Let’s get started…
Cabbage Soup Update:
Things You’ll Need for Day#4:
- Bananas
- Milk
- Blender (optional)
- Cinnamon (optional)
Day #4:
On the fourth day, yesterday, as I stated in my “Random Tuesday” post was banana day. For this day, you eat at least 8 bananas, all the soup you can, and you are allowed to drink skim milk. Since I don’t drink skim milk I drink either Almond or Soy and I haven’t had an issue doing so. The Almond Milk I purchase is the 30 calories Unsweetened Vanilla. It’s what I also always use when making smoothies. I was pretty excited to be on track for the weight I have lost so far. Even my dad can tell I am losing weight. Sadly, I haven’t seen 167 on the scale for a while.
I started off with a banana smoothie where I used the bananas I already had individually bagged and in the freezer. Using my Nutribullet, I put 1.5 bananas, some ice, a little bit of ground cinnamon and almond milk to mix it all up. Once finished blending, I added some more ground cinnamon (I love cinnamon, can’t ya tell?). After drinking my banana smoothie, I had a bowl of soup.
I had a couple of appointments across town so I stopped at Target and got a few more bananas so I could have something to eat while on the go. By the time I got home, I’d only had 6.5 bananas, therefore; I made another smoothie with 2.5 bananas along with another bowl of soup. Before it hit 7pm I made sure to have another bowl of soup.
**Side note: if you start to have a headache because you aren’t eating enough just grab some more bananas since you can have as many as you want, either that or eat more or the soup. Relax, for the last 3 days it gets easier in my opinion at least.**
Things You’ll Need for Day #5:
- Beef or Chicken (no skin) or Fish
- Tomatoes
Day #5:
Today so far, I have had 3 bowls of soup and a whole small watermelon you can buy from Target (particular a small Target not Super Target). I have a second small watermelon in the fridge ready for me to dig into very soon according to my stomach. ? Tonight I’m going to make a couple of pieces of tilapia for my dad and I for dinner.
Depending on how I feel, I’ll probably add some of the soup (without the watery part) to the top of it. I mean it is just veggies right!? Once again this morning, I was still on track with another pound gone. ? For my next “Random Tuesday” post I’ll continue the cabbage soup update about how the last 2 days go, so be sure to check back.
Now time for my “Oily Thursday” portion…
Supplements I use:
NingXia Red:
I absolutely love this stuff!! At first it does take some getting use to the taste but that’s with most things you are trying for the first time. Why is this stuff so great you ask? It is equal to all the following:
- 34 large onions
- 100 oranges
- 814 blueberries
- 22 medium carrots
- 10.85 pounds of spinach
- 55.33 pounds of almonds
- 59 broccoli florets
- 73 medium strawberries
- 93 apples
With that said, NingXia Red contains lots of “fiber, 93% d-limonene, which is a potent antioxidant and a marker for bioactivity, vitamins, minerals, carotenoids, and phytonutrients, zeaxanthin, polysaccharides, amino acids, and symbiotic vitamin – mineral pairs that when present together promote optimum internal absorption.” It’s a mouth full but totally worth it!
MindWise:
Grant it I just started using this supplement but I already love it! For just one tablespoon, it could be beneficial with supporting cognitive and cardiovascular health, great for cognitive and memory issues such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia and could even help those with Autism such as their social functioning. It contains CoQ10, Vitamin D3, MCT and pure essential oils, and more!
NingXia Nitro:
I don’t drink coffee, never have, I don’t even feel the ‘caffeine’ effects when I drink a soft drink; therefore, I don’t drink those either. I love this stuff just as much as NingXia Red as it has so many benefits. Some include an energy boost the healthy way, mental acuity support, and physical performance could be enhanced.
Putting them together:
Every morning after I weight myself and drink at least 8 ounces of water, I make me my Young Living ‘shot.’ First, I fill about half of my Saints shot glass up with NingXia Red. Second, I add a tube of NingXia Nitro; and lastly, I add 1-2 tablespoons of MindWise, depending on how much room is left.
Unfortunately, when I go out of town, I am unable to continue taking MindWise. For the NingXia Red, I keep a stash of the 2 ounce packets you can purchase in an a box of 30. I have taken these all the way over to Turkey with no problems. I even pack on in my carry-on so I can drink on when its ‘morning’ whichever way I am heading. The NingXia Nitro is also easy to just pack and go since they are only available in the tubes they come in.
So there you go, an update on how my week is going for the cabbage soup diet and the supplements I take every morning – diet or no diet. Hope you enjoyed and plan to try this great jump start diet to continue a healthy eating path. For the supplements you can visit my Young Living Personal Website here.
**As with anything, over the counter medicines and/or prescription, a specific essential oil may work great for me but not so much for you. These are recommendations, as it is a trial and error type process to find what works best for you. I am in no way a doctor of any kind to diagnose anything I just have a love for Young Living products and love the benefits I get from all I use.**
Thanks for visiting. Hope to see you back here again. If you have any questions or comments feel free to contact me and I will try to answer as quickly as possible.
