Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Howdy Write It Wednesday!

It’s Wednesday y’all!! Today I have to finish pack for the scrapbook retreat my mom and I are leaving for tomorrow. I’m hoping I’ll also be able to visit with one of my friends I haven’t seen in a few months while she’s at an appointment later this afternoon, but we will see. Anyways, since Easter is just around the corner, I’ve basically declared this and next week ‘Easter’ weeks. Of course, I have a few posts that aren’t particularly ‘Easter’ related. Alright, let’s get started with “Here Comes Peter Cottontail…”

Things Used:

  • Canson Marker Paper
  • Tombow Dual Brush Pens
  • Photoshop Elements 13
  • Black and Decker Laser

Step #1:

Here Comes Peter Cottontail -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more info...Who doesn’t love the blending technique using Tombow Dual Brush Pens? Every time I use this technique I find a create a new color. For this phrase, I used Tombow Dual Brush Pen numbers 703 and 526.

To use the blending technique using these two pen numbers I ‘scribbled’ on my blending palette with my 526 pen and then used my 703 pen number to run across the ‘scribble’ while also turning the tip so the 526 color would pick up all the way around. Once my 526 pen color was ready, I drew out my phrase.

With my phrase drawn out and I was satisfied with all the letters, I imported it to my computer and into my Photoshop Elements program. There, I used the ‘erase’ tool and took everything away except for my phrase.

Once satisfied with everything, I then imported my “Easter Egg Drawing” from “Make It Monday” into Photoshop Elements. With my “Easter Egg Drawing” in Photoshop Elements and my “Here Comes Peter Cottontail” phrase ready to go; I dragged my phrase onto my “Easter Egg Drawing.” Once there, I used one of the “Effects” options to make my phrase show up better.
