Make It Monday Once Again!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! In a future post I’ll talk about how this weekend at my scrapbooking retreat went but for now I’ve got an exciting project (at least I was excited) I want to share! Since I love dolphins I have named it “Dolphin Love.” Let’s get started…
Dolphin Love
Things I used:
- Scissors
- 4 by 6 scrapbook paper
- Adhesive
- 3-D Glue Dots
- Silver Brads
- Liquid Glue
- Clear Checkbook cover
- Poker to make holes
Still use checks to pay for various things? Are you like me and can never find your checks because they sorta kinda blend in with everything else? Well you’re in luck because you can make your own. Purchasing a cute checkbook cover can be expensive and frankly a waste of money.
Do you remember my post on “Wyland’s Dolphins” and my “Beach Braggin’ Tag Album?” Be sure to go back and read them when you’re finished here if not. ?
Step #1:
So the first thing I did was take the drawing I did for my “Wyland’s Dolphins” post and made a copy of it on my printer but shrunk it down to 60%. I printed out a total of four copies just in case. Then I carefully cut out two of the dolphins and the three bubbles above one of them.
Step #2:
Once the dolphins were cut out, using my medium 3-D glue dots I placed one in the middle and one towards the head the the first cut out; then I used a smaller size 3-D glue dot and placed towards the tail After the three glue dots where in place, I carefully placed the other dolphin cut out on top giving the dolphin a dimensional look.
Step #3:
Using three of my silver brads, I carefully used my liquid glue to glue my bubbles on one each. This allowed for the bubbles to also give a dimensional look.
Step #4:
Finally I put everything on the medium thick piece of white cardstock in the checkbook cover on using my adhesive. Once I had everything adhered down, I carefully put it in place within the checkbook cover.
There you go a cute handmade checkbook cover. Hope you enjoyed!
