Easter on the Bayou

Happy Random Tuesday!

Well, it’s Tuesday and I’m back to my study schedule. I want to be sure I’m ready for any tests I may have to retake and/or just be ready for my certification program classes I’ll hopefully be starting soon. Anyways, today I thought I would share about the time I was the Easter Bunny for a day. Let’s get started with “Easter on the Bayou….”

Easter on the Bayou:

In 2013, I worked at a Nature Center at a recreation park here close to where I live. I’ll be sure at some point in the near future to tell you about working there as it is quite a story. Anyways, as it was getting close to Easter, the one who was usually picked to be the Easter Bunny for the event they had every year wasn’t going to be able to that year, so I volunteered. I thought it sounded like fun and I love children so why not.

The morning of I got up as usual since I still had to get to the Nature Center and take care of everything. Once finished I headed over to where the event was taking place. Since I had been in Mississippi for the last two and a half years, I had no idea exactly how big of an event this was.

It was huge! Well huge in my perspective considering it’s a good drive out into the country if you live south of the cities. Heck, it’s a fifteen-minute drive just from where I live and that’s actually close. So, I was pretty surprised by how many news stations and radio stations were covering it.

Getting Ready:

Since I’m fairly tall, I actually wasn’t sure if it would fit me. Fortunately, it fit just right. Once dressed, I was ready for the day.

Here Comes the Easter Bunny:

Now, before changing there were a lot of the people there already. By the time I was dressed and went back outside, there were even more people there. My parents came too and said the line to get into the park was like waiting to get into Six Flags Over Texas at just the wrong time.

For most of the day I was under the arch that was made just for the Easter Bunny to stand under for the kiddos to have their pictures taken. Every so often, I made sure I walked around the area but still managed to have pictures taken. I lost count of how many kiddos got their pictures with me. It was so much fun and definitely a workout. By the middle of the day, I could tell my legs were going to be super sore the next day from doing to many squats.

Though I was having so much fun and absolutely love doing what I was doing, we ended up packing up early due to a storm that was coming. It never fails every year, a severe storm hits this area.

There you go. A short and sweet post about the day I was the Easter Bunny. Hope you enjoyed!
