It’s Thursday!! I’m back at the moment as my Gracie Baby (cat) is very sick but hanging in there. The meds we’ve got her on seem to be making her feel a lot better as she is wanting to go outside again and eating almost as much as she was before she got sick. I’ll write about her in another post within the coming weeks. Though if you are interested, I have a Facebook page for her where I update it at least weekly on her condition. For now, let ‘s talk about the holidays that are coming up quickly. So, let’s get started with “Getting Ready for the Holidays Part 1…”
**Side note: I will get back to the “Vitality vs. Regular Bottles Series” in a few week**
I love using my Young Living Essential Oils more and more every day. Every day I manage to find more ways to use them to enjoy them even more. Along with diffusing, roll-ons, and taking internally whether in a capsule, in water, or cooking with; I’ve now discovered my new favorite ways to clean the house other than using Young Living’s Thieves Cleaner.
Things Used:
- Baking Soda
- Young Living Purification Essential Oil
- Blender Bottle
Baking Soda:
Who doesn’t own baking soda as a staple essential in their household. Baking soda is practically a must since it has so many versatile uses. According to the back of the bag baking soda by Arm & Hammer, it can be used “for fresher, cleaner clothes;” “for scratchless cleaning” such as “sinks, counters, and ovens” just to name a few; and “for household deodorizing” such as “garbage pails, litter boxes, and dishwashers” just to name some of those.
Blender Bottle:
I have so many blender bottles it’s insane, though I’m not even sure why I have so many. I think several of them were freebies when I bought protein powder from GNC. Anyways, I decided to use one of my many blender bottles a try to make what I am sharing with you today.
Young Living Purification Essential Oil:
Though this particular essential oil comes in the Premium Starter Kit, I haven’t used it that much until now. According to Young Living’s website, with the Purification Essential Oil you can “[d]itch overpowering and harsh chemical-based sprays and keep your home smelling fresh and clean […]. This blend is made up of six essential oils for the ultimate weapon against odors. Citronella, Lavandin, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Myrtle, and Tea Tree work together to create a refreshing, bright scent that keeps you and your family happy and comfortable.”
Since there are so many versatile ways to use Purification the website continues to say “[…], you’ll never need to feel embarrassed by bad odors from cooking, laundry, pets, or anything else life throws your way. Diffuse it throughout your house or use a more targeted approach, so you always feel confident in your home, in the car, or on the go!”
Don’t get me wrong I have used Purification Essential Oil here and there every so often; it’s just not one of my top oils I used daily or even weekly; at least not until now.
Making Purification Essential Oil Carpet Freshener:
To make my Purification Carpet Freshener the main products needed are the three mentioned. In addition, you will need either a measuring cup or spoon. Of course, you can use any Young Living Essential Oil’s based on your preference of smell. The next batch I make I will probably play with which scent I want and used maybe StressAway, at least in my bedroom.
Step One:
Add baking soda to shaker bottle to fill your bottle up about halfway.
Step Two:
Add about 10-12 drops of Purification Essential Oil to shaker bottle. Screw the top of the shaker bottle and give it a good few shakes.
Step Three:
Top shaker bottle off with more baking soda and then if desired a few more drops of Purification.
Once finished, screw the top back onto the bottle again and shake it some more. Then open just the top part (without unscrewing it) and sprinkle on your carpet where you desire. I like to let it sit for 10-15 minutes, and then I go back and vacuum the baking soda up leaving my carpet Purification fresh. Personally, I love it, and it’s a great way to get your home holiday ready. That’s it! Now it’s your turn! Be sure to share your version.
