It’s Write It Wednesday!
Happy Wednesday y’all! Hope y’all have had a great week so far. I’m studying once again just in case for any sections I may have to retake on the big test I took a couple weeks ago. I’ll know Friday how I did exactly but you can never be too prepared right?! Anyways, since Easter is just around the corner (this Sunday in case you didn’t realize), I thought I would continue my Easter theme posts. Let’s get started with “Happy Easter Y’all…”
Things Used:
- Canson Marker Paper
- Tombow Dual Brush Pens
- Black and Decker Laser
- Photoshop Elements 13
Y’all I am floored right now! Just over a year ago I started my calligraphy practice. I have only practiced my brush calligraphy and painting calligraphy but still, considering I think I have improved a lot since starting. Hopefully, within the next few weeks or so, I’ll be able to start practicing my calligraphy using the nibs.
Flashback to a Year:
So, as I said above, it has been just over a year since starting my calligraphy journey. As you can see when I first started, I did not connect the letters. Most of my practice was during my lunch hour during the time I worked at the small zoo here close to town. For this one, I used Tombow Dual Brush Pen numbers 055 and 493. I used the tips of the pens too to create the flowers.
A Year Later:
Now, I know I’m not nearly as great as some of these other calligraphers out there but I am certainly a lot better than I was a year ago. Here, I used Tombow Dual Brush Pen numbers 243 and 565. As you can see in this video, I ‘colored’ number 565 onto number 243 for the blending part for my saying. Once I finished with that, I carefully used number 565 to outline my saying.
There you go! Hope you enjoyed! If you are just getting started with your calligraphy journey, don’t get discouraged. Practice takes time and you will get better. No one is perfect.
