Happy Wednesday y’all! Hope everyone has a great day! I mainly plan on spending my day studying and preparing tomorrow’s “Oily Thursday” post, as well as walking on the treadmill. Anyways, since next Tuesday is Independence Day I thought I would go ahead and make something. So, let’s get started with “Happy Independence Day….”

Red, White, and Blue Watercolor Background:
Step #1:
To start, I scribbled Tombow Dual Brush Pen numbers 443, 856, and N89 on my “Calligraphy Brush Pens Blending Palette.” These are the colors I decided to use based on the Red, White, and Blue color scheme for my background.
Step #2:
Then using my Mini Mister, I added water on top of my colors.
Step #3:
Just like previously when making these watercolor backgrounds, I simply flipped my palette over onto my Canson Watercolor Paper Pad. While there, I rubbed my hand over it a few a times allowing the colors to go every which way.
Step #4:
Once finished, I carefully lifted my blending palette and then tilting my Canson Watercolor Paper Pad letting the excess water run over it more. After a few seconds of doing that, I then used a paper towel to remove the excess water left on the Canson Watercolor Paper Pad.
Happy Independence Day:
Step #1:
After I had my watercolor background part finished, I was ready to create my saying. I started with scribbling my Tombow Dual Brush Pen numbers 443 and 856. Then using my pen number N89, I scribbled over the first two colors.
Step #2:
I then drew out my saying “Happy Independence Day,” which of course I had to do at an angle to get it to fit.
Step #3:
With my saying finished, I then applied the outlining technique using my Tombow Dual Brush Pen number N15 so it would show up better.
Once I had all my photos uploaded into Photoshop Elements, I simply cropped the watercolor background the way I wanted it and ‘erased’ the backgrounds for my “Happy Independence Day” saying.
There you go! A creative way to draw “Happy Independence Day.” Hope you enjoyed!
