Make It Monday is Here Again!
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent most of mine studying for a test I am getting ready to take. Today, I wanted to share one of my newest favorite things to make. My mom made them the first time for New Years Day. Of course, hers came out much better than mine have the two times I’ve attempted but I thought I would go ahead and share anyways. Let’s get started with “Making Cabbage Steak…”
Things Used:
- Head of Cabbage
- Large Knife
- Young Living Essential Oils
- Cookie Sheet
- Cutting Board
- Olive Oil
- Tablespoon
- Prep Cup
- Oven
Step #1:
First thing I did, was set my oven to 425* so it could go ahead and get heated while I got everything else ready. Then, I washed my head of cabbage and cut it in slices. Most recipes I’ve read say to cut in 1-inch slices but I just kinda cut where I want.
Step #2:
Once I have all my pieces cut and on my cookie sheet, I get my Olive Oil mixture ready. Since I didn’t have quite enough the first time I attempted making these, I used about 5 tablespoons worth of Olive Oil and added it to my prep cup.
Step #3:
After I had the amount of Olive Oil I wanted in my prep cup, I added a single drop of the Young Living’s Essential Oils I decided to add. I added a drop of Black Pepper Essential Oil, Basil Essential Oil, and Oregano Essential Oil.
Young Living recently came out with their Vitality Essential Oil line to show which were completely safe to ingest but I don’t have these three in the Vitality Line; however, they are still completely safe to ingest. Be sure to check back or sign up for emails for when I post about the Vitality Essential Oil line Young Living came out with recently. Once my series on Young Living’s Starter Kit is finished I’ll post about them.
Step #4:
With my Essential Oils in my Olive Oil, I was ready to drizzle my mixture on my sliced cabbage.
Step #5:
At this point, the oven was ready for the cabbage steaks to be cooked, so I carefully placed the cookie sheet pan into the oven and set the time for about 30 minutes. Once the timer went off I pulled them out and voila! Delish!
Yes, they are a little burnt but they were still super good. Next time I will probably set the temperature to 400* instead of 425* and maybe they won’t come out as burnt.
There you go, a yummy healthy delicious way to make cabbage a different way. Hope you enjoyed!
