Howdy, Make It Monday!
A couple of weeks ago I demonstrated on how to make a no-sew blanket. Today, I am going to demonstrate on how to make a no-sew floor pillow. It’s basically the same concept but with a few more measurements.
No-Sew Floor Pillow
Things You’ll Need:
- Fabric of Choice
- Fabric Scissors
- Tape Measure
- Paper Clips
- Floor Pillow
Step #1:
First, as with anything else, you’ll want to pick the fabric you want to you. As you can see, I went with a football fleece pattern for the top and a solid black for the bottom. Then you’ll want to decide what size pillow you actually want to use. I went with a 28 by 28 Soft Stuff Euro Sham Pillow Insert. I purchased my pillow and fabric from Hobby Lobby. While there, I had them cut 2 yards worth of each piece of fabric. I did this just in case I decided to make another pillow to match.
Step #2:
Before cutting a piece of what I needed, I trimmed around both pieces of fabric to get the holes and rolled up part taken away like I did with the no-sew blanket. Then since I used a pillow 28 by 28, I cut a piece of the fabric to 33 by 33. After getting my piece cut to size, I used my paper clips to keep the two pieces together.
Step #3:
After get the paper clips in place, I measured out 5 inch squares at each corner. Next, using the measuring tape, I made a cut at every inch up 5 inches. I then went around and tied each coupled pieces until I had all sides finished except one.
Step #4:
Before finishing the last side turned the ‘pillow case’ inside out allowing me to put my pillow in fairly easily just like any other pillow I am putting into a pillow case.
Step #5:
Finally, I tied up the last side and was finished. So there you go a floor pillow ready to be put to use. I’ve used it for watching movies or playing video games. Come Christmas it will probably also be used for something soft to sit on for the small kiddos.
Of course this can be doubled as a doggie bed too. I made the mistake of going ahead and placing the pillow on the floor and Dixie decided she had a new bed. ?
