Happy Wednesday y’all! Hope everyone is having a great week so far! I ended up doing things I really didn’t want to do yesterday but thats okay, I still got to have cake, presents, and got my 18,000 steps. No seriously!, I had to walk off all the cake and other goodies I ate for my Birthday. ? Plus, I’m on a mission of making up for all the days I didn’t get my 10,000 steps in since the first of June due to unexpected events. So far, so good. Anyways, since today is the Summer Solstice, I thought I would do something cute and simple, so let’s get started with “Officially Summer…..”
Did you know:
Summer Solstice full day is June 21st. It’s super easy for me to remember since it’s the day after my Birthday. The official starting time for Summer Solstice is June 20th at 11:24 pm. Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year while the Winter Solstice, which is December 21st, is the shortest day of the year. Depending on where you live, depends on how many hows of daylight you will have. For example, if you live in Louisiana, like my family and I do, we will have roughly 14 hours of daylight; however, if you live in Alaska, you could have anywhere between 18 and 24 hours of daylight. Of course, these includes those states or provinces in Canada inline with the examples. Be sure to read up for yourself by clicking here for a good source of information.

Step #1:
To start, I pulled out my Blending Palette and used my Tombow Dual Brush Pen numbers 845 and 606 to scribble the colors.
Step #2:
Then, using my Tombow Dual Brush Pen number 443, I scribbled over the first two pen colors and drew out my “Officially Summer” saying in calligraphy. I don’t know about y’all, but I just love out this trio comes out. It’s just so pretty!
There you go. A creative way to calligraphy out a saying.
Anyways, hope you enjoyed and if you’re new to the calligraphy world, learned something new! Need a place to get away for the weekend to work on all those creative ideas? Visit Memory Lane Inn for more information.
