Hellooooo Oily Thursday!
Hope y’all are having a great week! We have almost made it to Friday! Yay!! It has also been officially a week since my surgery day. I have physical therapy again this morning so at least I get to get out of the house. I feel like I’ve been trying to do a little too much since it’s just been me during the day here with the animals. Anyways, if y’all saw my “Write It Wednesday” post yesterday, you’re probably wondering why I have written some essential oil names on some of the rice bags. Well I’m gonna tell you, so without further ado, here’s to Oily Hot/Cold Packs…
Oily Hot/Cold Packs
Things Used:
- Lavender Essential Oil
- Panaway Essential Oil
- M-Grain Essential Oil
- Rice bags and Pouch (Make It Monday)
You’re probably also wondering why I used velcro to close my hot/cold pack (Monday’s Make It Monday). Well it’s because if you only want to make one pack but want to say change out which essential oil is in it without all of them mixing together, you can just switch the rice bags out. This is the reason of why I have written on the rice bags (yesterday’s Write It Wednesday). So, for today’s post I am going to finish series on my hot/cold pack telling you how I would use the essential oils I have written on my rice bags. Here we go…
Lavender Essential Oil:
I have talk numerously about Lavender before but you just can’t stay away from this one. My number one benefit for Lavender is sleeping. Heat the rice bag up and your good to go. This is great for situations such as staying at the hospital with a loved one and don’t have your diffuser, every hospital has a microwave somewhere for visitors to use. Just heat the rice bag, apply one or two drops of lavender on top, and place in your pouch.
Another great use is for things such as burns. Keep a rice bag in the freezer, take it out, add a drop or two to the rice bag, place it into the pouch and place on the burnt spot. Coldness and lavender, great for burns. Wish I would have had this when I burnt myself (no lie) for the first time ever try to change a bulb the day I moved into my Beach View apartment in Mississippi.
M-Grain Essential Oil:
I believe I have only talked about M-Grain once or twice before, but this is one of my favorite go to essential oil now. More times than I can count, my head has start pounding in ache so bad I’ve had to go to bed early with everything blacked out. Every since I found this great essential oil, I have diffused every time I feel my head starting its pounding and within a short period of time it’s out of there.
I figured putting a drop on the hot rice bag and placing it on my head for a bit, would feel so great and totally worth it. Give it a try!
Panaway Essential Oil:
I love this essential oil in general but man oh man. Since my surgery I have used this one like crazy. Though I can’t put heat on my hip area yet from my surgery, I have been using a cold pack on it for the last several days. I just let my panaway rice bag stay in the freezer over night or for a couple of hours during the day and then add a drop or two of panaway on my rice bag and place it in my pouch.
There you go, three rice bags, three essential oils, and one pouch with so many different ways to use it. Hope you enjoyed! What essential oils will you use in on your rice bag?
