Physical Therapy

Hello Random Tuesday!!

Hope everyone had a great Monday! Me? Well… my therapist enjoyed torching me! ? Just Kidding! (Well, sorta). However, I also spent WAY too much! I love my Young Living Essential Oils so much and they had this huge sale all day long. Wish I would have known about it to share on Thursday’s post. Anyway, today I thought I would give a brief update on how my physical therapy was going. Let’s get started…

Physical Therapy

So this morning my physical therapist had me start off with the usual, though I’m not sure the name of all these so I’ll just try to explain them as well as possible. Since they do not allow pictures to be taken in the facility, I had to compromise with what I had at home.

Obviously, the pillow case I use at physical therapy is not coral patterned… This is just what I have on hand… (Oh and no I use the matching one not this one)

My physical therapist had a my shoe in a pillow case with a board underneath for me to slide my leg up and down slowly and an exercise rope type thing to help and keep control. He sat the timer so who knows how many I did.

Exercise #2:

Then he used one of those exercise bands to put around my ankles (I did both sides to keep it even), where I had to use my strength to pull my leg backwards towards me.

Exercise #5, #6, and #7:

Here comes the start of the torching exercises.? For my fifth exercise yesterday, in physical therapy, my physical therapist had me get in the middle of the parallel bars to do start putting weight on my right side again since I’ve been no to minimum weight-bearing. I started off with just slightly putting weight on my right side by placing my foot all the way down to the floor. Next, I did some side leg lifts; and then finally I did some back leg lifts. I did about 20-30 each of these.

The one I use in therapy is a bit bigger but y’all get the idea…

For my last two exercises, my therapist got me back on the table to do some small bridges. First set of bridges were with both of my legs on a round exercise tube and then I did some with just my right leg on the exercise tube.

Alright there you go. My exercises for yesterday’s physical therapy session. Hope you enjoyed for those who care, I don’t call this “Random Tuesday” for nothing ? Have a great day!
