Ohhh Write It Wednesday!! How Great it is to be YOU!!!
It’s Wednesday, also known as “Hump Day” or in my world “Write It Wednesday.” Which also means one more day till the weekend and one more day until Christmas Day! Who’s ready?! I’m semi-ready. Meaning since I’m unable to drive still, I can only do so much local shopping and been doing most of my shopping online so still waiting for those things to arrive. Anyways, if you saw my “Make It Monday” post you would know I was going to tell you “My Secret to Layering Glitter on Glitter Vinyl.” So, let’s get started…
My Secret to Layering Glitter on Glitter Vinyl
So, first I want to let y’all all know, the images I used in my “Make It Monday” project, were hand-drawn by me. For all three drawings I used Tombow Fudenosuke Hard Tip pen after using a drawing pencil and MOO Professional Eraser.
Okay, yes some of y’all have probably seen my dolphin before but I redrew it and left off the air bubbles I had on my first drawing of it.
For my starfish, I basically just drew a star then erased the pointed areas and rounded them off.
Lastly, for the Santa Hat, well I just winged it.
My Secret to Layering Glitter on Glitter Vinyl:
My secret to layering glitter on glitter vinyl is actually quite simple. Though some of y’all may not really consider this ‘layering’ but to me it since technically I have the Santa Hat on top of both my Dolphin and Starfish. Now there are some out there that’s looking for layering such as in the middle but I’ll get to that eventually when I actually do a project with it.
And, here’s how I did them:
Scanning:
First, I scanned each drawing onto my computer and then uploaded them into Cricut Design Space. Once I sized them the size I wanted each one to be, I used the ‘slice’ function in Cricut Design Space.
Slicing:
What I did was I placed my Santa Hat on the Starfish covering up the top leg where I wanted it to go. Selected each item (Santa Hat and Starfish) and clicked the slice button. This caused the top leg to be separated from the Starfish but allowed the Santa Hat to fit perfectly in the top leg’s place. For the dolphin, I did basically the same thing. I just placed the Santa Hat where I wanted it to go, and used the the slice button again.
There you go, my secret to layering glitter on glitter vinyl. Hope you enjoyed! If you haven’t seen “Make It Monday”‘s project click here to get to it.
