Some Great Books

Hellloo Random Tuesday!!

Well it’s Tuesday, and yesterday I had the house to myself for the first time in I don’t know in how long. Today, we have a couple of workers outside working on the house. Since my dad is at the warehouse, I’m here monitoring them, so everything goes smoothly. While they’re working, I’m hoping to get way ahead on projects so I can work on something I’ve been wanting to get started on. Anyways, have you read some great books lately?

Currently I am attempting to read “The Magicians Trilogy” by Lev Grossman. I’ve finished the first book and working on the second. Since seeing the T.V. series based on the Trilogy, I decided I would read before watching. I guess basically I’m just really waiting for the third book of “The Returns” by M.K. Clinton to come out.

Some Great Books

“The Returns” by M.K. Clinton:

Some Great Books -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoFirst of all, in case you were wondering, the last name is no relationship to the Clinton’s running for office. Now, despite the fact I know the writer and grew up with her daughter, I absolutely LOVE her books. Book One of “The Returns,” is based in one of my all-time favorite cities – New Orleans, LA. Though, I don’t want to give it away of what the whole book is about, it’s a crime-solving mystery with a twist. I’ll put it to you this way, if you love crime stories, dogs, and a good fun time — read this book!

If you have been to New Orleans, there are so many places in the book you will be laughing out loud. On the other hand, if you’ve never been to New Orleans, plan a trip, explore the city (particular the French Quarters), and then purchase the book and enjoy!

Don’t forget some great traveling bags to take with you on your trip!

It took me only a few days to finish the book. I remember being home for break from school and having to pick my sister up in Dallas from the airport as she was flying in from whatever country she was living in at the time. Normally, when I pick my sister up from the airport, I always drive no matter knowing she has jet lag and is super tired. This time, there was no way I was putting this book down after getting to Dallas. I literally made her drive home while I set in the backseat with headphones on, so I couldn’t hear their conversation, and read until I was finished.

“The Returns 2 Showstoppers” by M.K. Clinton:

Some Great Books -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoThe second book is just as great as the first. Though it’s not based in New Orleans, LA this time, it’s based in a city I’ve actually never been to — New York City. Just like the first book, this one is too a crime-solving mystery with a twist. This book is about just as the title puts it – Showstoppers. Though I’ve never been to New York City before, I know there’s a lot of different types of shows going on up there. Once you put that and the team together within the book, you pretty much know what the jiffs of is it’s about; but to really get the answers and excitement, you’ve gotta read it!

Dog Is Good

Book #3:

Though this one has not come out yet and I have not a clue what is will be based around I am excited and know it will be awesome! In the meantime, you can catch up with what the gang of the stories are about on M.K. Clinton’s blog – “Barking from the Bayou, LLC.” This is where Clinton gives updates about the gang; along with tips and other things to know about when it comes to these fellows and those alike.

Amazon Kindle:

This is what my Kindle looks like, though I have a protected cover on it of which I purchased from Best Buy. It’s the Paperwhite which has the back light and touchscreen but does not have the audio. Click on the Amazon Kindle below to check it out more on Amazon.com.

Though these books are available as paperback, I now read most of my novels on my Amazon.com Kindle. Since I read as much as possible these days, my books take up a lot more less space these days. On the other hand, I do have a small library area with a lot of other types of books. These include but not limited to books on — juicing, marine mammals, dolphins, marine mammals, and essential oils. Oh and did I mention marine mammals? Stay tuned for a coming soon post about my all time favorite marine mammal book.

Comment below with books you have read lately and/or recommend. Would love to hear them as I am always looking for a great book to read!
