Watercolor TIME!!

Howdy Write It Wednesday!

BRING IT ON 2017!! We’ve made it to the middle of the week! Soon it will Friday yet again! Who’s ready? As long as I can finish everything I really want to get finished this week, I’ll be ready. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do so, but I’m certainly gonna try. Anyways, I just got some new watercolors so I’ve declared today, Watercolor Time! This is the first time I’ve played with them since getting them in so let’s see together how they work. Let’s get started…

Watercoloring with Tombow Dual Brush Pens:

Watercolor Time -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more info... Watercolor Time -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more info... I think I’m in LOVE with watercoloring with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens! Personally, just after one session of using them, I’m pretty sure I’m going to prefer watercoloring with them to blend verse blending them with each other. It’s so easy and comes out so much better. Though I’m no pro at either but the watercoloring seem to come out a lot better for me that it has with the blending the pens themselves together.

Using them to watercolor is quite simple. First, using my pipettes, I basically added the colors I wanted to use on my paint palette. For today’s project I used color numbers 506, 545 and 361. Next, I picked which Tombow Dual Brush Pen I wanted to use; which were numbers 933, 665, and 755. Finally, I dipped the brush end into my watercolor and got to work. Whenever I felt like it I would change pens and dip it into another color to give it more color. The only fallback for using the pens this way is the work space, as you are going to want a flat area to have your watercolors on so they don’t spill as well for you watercolor pad or whatever paper you decide to use so everything keeps where you want it (hope that makes sense). My best attempt…

Now, using water brush pens is complete different than using the Tombow Dual Brush Pens. Though, I believe with practice, as with everything else, it will get easier and better. As everyone keeps saying, “Practice makes Better!”

Create and CraftWith the water brush pens (and I may actually be using them wrong if that’s possible), I added water to them with my pipette. Then I just dipped it into the watercolor I wanted to use first as I wrote. While writing, I had to continuously dip my brush into the colors for it to keep writing. Needless to say,  my arm got tired. With time, my arm will eventually get use to using the water brush pen. Click here for a quick video of me working on my best attempt.
